1. “Taylor, the Latte Boy” – Kristin Chenoweth
Lyric Sample: “Taylor, the latte boy, bring me java, bring me joy.”
This 2005 comedic song is about a woman who’s built a fantasy romance around the barista who makes her coffee every morning, convincing herself that every extra pump of vanilla is a sign of love.
2. “Cigarettes and Coffee” – Otis Redding
Lyric Sample: “We’re sittin’ here talkin’ over cigarettes and drinking coffee.”
Redding’s 1966 soul ballad is about two people who love each other so much that all they need is each other, a cup of coffee, and a cigarette.
